The X-Rotor Aero is Carbon-Ti's dedicated aero disc rotor, developed specifically with UAE Team Emirates for time trials and high-speed road racing. Where the SteelCarbon 3 is the all-rounder, the Aero variant takes the same steel braking track and titanium hardware, wraps it in a wind tunnel-optimised carbon body, and targets the niche where rotor aerodynamics actually matter: TT bikes, triathlon, and flat-out road stages.

The CenterLock version uses the same dedicated Al-7075 adapter system developed for the SteelCarbon 3 CenterLock, with a laser-engraved titanium protection plate integrated into the carbon body. It mounts directly without third-party adapters.


Features

Wind Tunnel-Optimised Carbon Body

The carbon spider on the Aero is a complete redesign of the SteelCarbon 3 body, optimised in the wind tunnel for superior air penetration and reduced drag at high speed. 


Steel Braking Track, Shared with SteelCarbon 3

The braking surface uses the same special steel track as the X-Rotor SteelCarbon 3, which means braking performance and heat management are not compromised for the sake of aerodynamics.


Dedicated CenterLock Adapter

The Al-7075 CenterLock adapter integrates directly with the carbon body and includes a laser-engraved titanium protection plate that fits flush into the carbon shape. The low-profile lockring is compatible with 12, 15, and 20mm thru-axle hubs, covering most modern road and TT wheel standards.


Grade 5 Titanium Rivets and Washers

All rivets and washers are Grade 5 titanium, keeping the hardware weight low while maintaining the clamping strength and fatigue resistance required at the braking interface. This is consistent across the entire X-Rotor range.


UCI-Compliant Rounded CNC Edges

The rotor profile features precision CNC-machined rounded edges, compliant with UCI regulations on rotor profiles. This applies to both race-use safety requirements and general rider safety in the event of rotor contact.


Developed with UAE Team Emirates

The X-Rotor Aero was developed to meet the specific requirements of UAE Team Emirates for time trials and high-speed racing, tested by professional riders over months in competition conditions. It is the rotor seen on Colnago TT1 bikes at the highest level of professional cycling.

Notes

Rotors are true out of the factory, but in the event they get slightly warped during shipping, here's a guide by Park Tool on How to True a Rotor. 

Use pH-neutral detergents for cleaning. High/low pH detergent residue can cause corrosion.
