Titanium brake lever piston | Brake fluid, sweat & corrosion resistant

Shimano M8000 / M7000 / M785 | Sold per piece | Includes 2x O-Ring

Shimano hydraulic brakes are excellent until the piston corrodes and the lever jams.

This titanium replacement piston is ~40% lighter than the stock part, resistant to brake fluid and corrosion. A small part with a disproportionate impact on brake reliability.

Features

Solves Shimano Brake Jamming

The root cause of lever jamming on these Shimano brakes is corrosion on the stock piston.

Titanium does not corrode in contact with brake fluid, sweat, or moisture.

PVD Hardened Surface

Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coating adds a hardened outer layer that resists scratching and surface wear.

Unlike conventional electroplating, PVD bonds at a molecular level. The finish won't flake, peel, or degrade in contact with brake fluid over time.

Hot Forged Construction

The piston is hot-stamp forged rather than machined from bar stock.

Forging aligns the grain structure of the titanium, producing a stronger and more fatigue-resistant component, better suited to the repeated hydraulic pressure cycles of a brake piston than a machined equivalent.

~40% Lighter Than Stock

Titanium is significantly lighter than steel for the same strength.

Corrosion Resistant - Brake Fluid, Sweat & Rain

Titanium is highly resistant to corrosion from DOT fluid, mineral oil, salt, and sweat — all of which the piston is exposed to in normal MTB use.

The PVD finish adds a further protective layer over the base titanium, keeping the piston functioning like new over the life of the brake.

Polished Mirror Finish

Precision polished to a mirror finish.
