Rigel's forged carbon body cuts weight without giving up stiffness. A wear-resistant 7075-T6 aluminium core sits at the chain contact area, protecting the carbon from the friction and wear that chain contact would otherwise cause. Gemini moulds continuous carbon fibre around each tooth, arranged concentrically around the metal core under more than 100 tons of pressure, a structural approach they say produces strength other carbon manufacturing methods can't match.

Each ring is handcrafted in Gemini's own Barcelona workshop. It's the result of more than three years of R&D, over 500 prototypes, and two international patent applications, made under one roof rather than outsourced.

Warranty

If you have detected any defect, damage or unusual behaviour on your GEMINI product, stop using it immediately. Using a damaged component may compromise your safety. To evaluate the case, we will need clear photos, a detailed description and proof of purchase.

Warranty coverage

The warranty is intended to cover manufacturing defects. It does not cover damage caused by crashes, accidents, incorrect assembly, misuse or normal wear.

Period

The warranty lasts 3 years from product delivery, provided the conditions stated in our policy are met.

Coverage

It covers manufacturing defects or issues caused by a product failure attributable to the manufacturing process.

Solution

If the case is approved, we will assess repair or replacement of the defective product when applicable.

Not covered

  • Crashes, impacts or accidents.
  • Incorrect assembly or improper torque values.
  • Misuse, normal wear or lack of maintenance.
  • Unauthorized modifications or external product damage.

How your request is reviewed

Once we receive the information, our technical team will review the case and contact you if we need more details.

Initial information

We will need your order number, invoice or proof of purchase, clear product photos, affected area and a detailed description of the issue.

Technical review

We will review the information sent to make an initial assessment. If needed, we may ask for additional details.

Resolution

If the warranty is approved, we will indicate the corresponding solution depending on the case: repair, replacement or another suitable alternative.

Crash Replacement Program

If your product has suffered an impact or shows visible or structural damage, stop using it immediately. Carbon can suffer internal damage that is not visible, and continuing to use it may compromise your safety.

This program does not replace the warranty. Warranty covers manufacturing defects; the Crash Replacement Program is intended for damage caused by crashes, impacts or accidents.

The Crash Replacement Program allows original GEMINI customers to access a special discount to replace a component damaged by a crash or impact.

For original customers who purchased a GEMINI product and whose component has been damaged due to a crash, impact or accident.

It applies to GEMINI components damaged by accident, provided we can review the case and validate the request.

Important

To access the program, we may request the damaged component to be sent for review or recycling. Each case will be assessed individually.

Discount table

The applicable discount depends on the time elapsed since the original purchase date.

- 50%: From 0 to 24 months after the purchase date

- 35%: From 25 to 36 months after the purchase date.

- 25%: From 37 to 48 months after the purchase date.

- 15%: From 49 months onwards after the purchase date.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Rigel for any type/brand of chain?

Rigel's tooth design has been developed to be compatible with any chain on the market for 11 and 12 speeds, for both Shimano, SRAM Eagle, and SRAM Eagle Flat Top chains.

Do I have to put on a new chain when mounting a new Rigel?

If you want to maximize the life of your Rigel chainring, we recommend using a new chain when installing it and monitoring its wear. This will extend the life of your RIGEL carbon chainring by many miles.

How long can Rigel last?

Defining a general durability for a component of this type is impossible, as its lifespan depends on the power the rider applies when pedaling, the elevation gain, maintenance, etc. These are all factors that can determine why some cyclists may ride more kilometers than others, just like with a conventional aluminium chainring.

For this reason, we cannot give you a specific figure. Please note that the core is made of metal, which means its durability is higher than that of any other carbon fibre chainring.

How can I know if the offset suits my bike's needs?

The 6.5mm offset is compatible with all bikes that have a 142mm BOOST rear hub setup.

Is it really the lightest plate in the world?

Yes, it's the lightest Direct Mount chainring. The 30T, SRAM 3-bolt version weighs around 39g, as it primarily uses carbon fiber for both the frame and the teeth, despite having an internal metal core used solely to extend its lifespan.

What maintenance does it need?

We recommend lubricating your drivetrain with a dry lubricant to prevent particles from adhering to the chain and causing premature wear on your RIGEL carbon chainring.

Keeping your drivetrain clean and well-lubricated will extend the life of your RIGEL.

What makes Rigel technology so special?

Rigel is made from Forged Carbon, resulting in a continuous fiber structure within the tooth that is unattainable with traditional carbon fiber manufacturing processes.

In addition, its internal metal core provides superior wear performance of the carbon teeth.
