Tidak, sepeda modern saat ini memiliki poros thru-axle yang melewati gantungan derailleur belakang. Poros thru-axle memberikan kekakuan yang sangat tinggi di seluruh area; oleh karena itu, gantungan tidak akan menyebabkan chain stay putus kecuali poros thru-axle putus.
