Why You Might Need This Tool

- If you feel your braking piston is sticky or retracting slowly upon release of the lever, this could be due to brake dust contamination along the sides of the piston.

Use this tool to remove the cover to access the pistons for a deep overhaul and clean!

• If the original ceramic pistons that are fragile is damaged and you need to replace them, then you'd need to remove the cover!

Notes

For R9270, the piston cover is removed by rotating clockwise. Maximum torque value of the tool is 20Nm. Once loosened, the cover is removed from the inside of the caliper.

If 20Nm is applied and yet the cover is not loosened, it is likely the threadlocker is doing its job. In this instance, it is recommended to apply heat to the pistons for ease of removal. Do not force this tool beyond 20Nm.
