Coming in at just 7g, this piece adds extra bling to your ride without compromising toughness and durability due to specialised titanium alloys that provide excellent yield strength and fatigue resistance.

Check frame and hub clearance before ordering. The external design needs enough gap between the hub and the frame/fork to fit.

Sold as a set of 2 lock rings, suitable to change front and rear wheel lockrings.

Compatibility

This lock ring is for Centerlock hubs only. It will not work with 6-bolt rotor mounts.

It is an external type, so it needs enough space between the hub and the frame or fork. If that gap is too small and your bike can only use an internal-type lock ring, do not force this one on. Forcing it on will void the warranty.

Installation and Care

This is the core locking part of a Centerlock brake system. Incorrect installation can cause the rotor to loosen, reduced braking power or even brake failure, so we recommend installation by a qualified mechanic with proper tools.

Use a suitable bottom bracket style wrench
Tighten to 40 N·m with a torque wrench
After installing, re-check torque, confirm the rotor has no play, confirm the lock ring sits tightly against the rotor, and spin the wheel to check there is no rubbing noise
Every 500 km, check the rotor for looseness and re-tighten with a torque wrench
After any crash or impact that hits the rotor, inspect and re-tune the whole disc brake system
When removing, use the correct tool so it does not slip and damage the lock ring. If it is very tight, a lever extension can help, but apply force carefully

If anything feels wrong during first installation or use, such as visible rotor wobble or a repeating rubbing sound when the wheel spins, stop immediately and contact us.

Not for: downhill, enduro, dirt jumps, freeride, e-bike conversions, or any use beyond road and gravel on paved surfaces.

Hotcheck guarantees this product for 2 years from the original purchase date. If the product suffers a structural failure when correctly installed and used in normal riding, the brand will provide a free replacement.

Warranty exclusions (the following are not covered):

Improper installation or maintenance: Not tightening to the recommended torque (over or under), damage caused by using a non-dedicated tool, and corrosion damage from corrosive substances.
Accidents and misuse: Damage from crashes, impacts or other abnormal external force, or overloading such as use in downhill riding.
Wear and tear: Normal wear marks on the tool flats from installation and removal, and surface scratches.
Incompatible spec: Forcing this brand's external lock ring onto a bike where the gap between frame and hub is too small and only an internal type lock ring can be used.
Unauthorized modification: Cutting, drilling, grinding, polishing, anodizing, painting or any other change to the product itself.
Unauthorized channels: Products without valid proof of purchase, or bought from non-official channels.

Warranty process

If a problem occurs, stop using the product immediately and contact us. You will need to provide photos of the product, close-ups of the problem area and proof of purchase. If the claim meets warranty conditions, the product will be repaired or replaced.
